Here, there & everywhere

First, a little bit of Q&A:

Q: Where did the name "Changstein" come from?

A: The name was inspired by the TV sitcom Seinfeld, episode 90 (season 6, episode 4), "The Chinese Woman". I pronounce it "Chang-steen" but that's really tomato, tomoto. Why did I choose Changstein as my company name? Well, it struck a chord. I used it for my handle on the social network Twitter, and the name took. Funny how that happens.

Q: OK, what's with the smiley yellow guy?

A: It's was my avatar on Twitter (a social net I no longer use). He's been through various incarnations, but for now, he's a happy, yellow LEGO™ piece.

Q: Design with a different slant? A little un-PC, no?

A: Please be warned, I don't take my Chineseness very seriously. At the first meeting with my in-laws-to-be, I told one of them that it's not commonly known that Chinese people have letterbox vision, therefore they must tilt their heads up and down to see what is above and below. It was a glorious moment of enlightenment.

I've been incredibly blessed to work alongside many talented individuals over my 20 years in advertising + design. I love what I do and I believe my work speaks for itself. I've seen what works and what doesn't. With Changstein, I partner with my clients to build brands that will stand out in any economy!

My goal for my company is quite simple – to make a living that will support my family (currently sitting at 4). My wife and I have one bio child and one adopted child from South Africa. We're open to adopting more, but it's time consuming and expensive. However it goes, we're looking forward to the journey.

As a one-man show, I don't have the capacity to serve a huge portfolio of clients – just a few that are a good fit. So, if you think you'd be interested in working together or just in conversation, please feel free to look around the site, read the blog, leave a comment or contact me.
